Massive Cost Reduction - Our power costs are a quarter of those incurred in the UK. This low power cost allows us to offer colocation rates unimaginable in the UK or Europe. And our high power density facilities allow us to concentrate your equipment in fewer racks, further amplifying the savings achievable in Thor. Typically we are able to achieve total cost savings across power, space and bandwidth of over 50% against comparable out-of-London facilities in the UK. If you are still using central London facilities, then savings can be much higher. These savings are fully scalable from a single rack to larger deployments of multiple Megawatts.

100% Carbon Reduction – No offsets or carbon credits are required, Iceland’s power grid is the cleanest in the world, using 100% renewable energy. This leads to additional savings for UK companies with reduced Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) taxes through elimination of hundreds or even thousands of tonnes of CO2 emissions each year. And with no fossil fuels, there is no dependency on volatile oil and gas prices, allowing us to offer long-term fixed-price contracts, providing certainty over outgoings for many years to come. 

Operational today, Thor is ISO27001 certified for security and built to full Uptime Institute Tier 3 standards, the benchmark for data critical facilities. We offer zero carbon power at up to 30kW per rack, and are linked to the rest of the world by multiple subsea fibres providing resilient, low latency, high capacity networking.

Thor is a modular facility, providing highly flexible accomodation. Your equipment can be house in a locked rack in a shared space, in a caged area, or in your own private house-in-house. The pictures above show two of the modules operational in Thor today.
